The great hovawart weekend in Tervakoski went VERY successfully: Tallivahdin became BIS1 breeder! :-)

The world biggest hovawart happening in Tervakoski there were Finnish Hovawart Club Obedience Championship on Saturday and the special club show on Sunday. In obedience you could see almost 50 hovis competing in 4 classes. The club show was the biggest hovawart show forever with altogether 291 hovis!
On Saturday there were 5 Tallivahdin dogs in obedience test.  We were all in beginner class because you can describe our interest in obedience that it rises only once a year in Tervakoski... We all train our hovis to working dog tests and one part of them is usually Haltung also the same working dog obedience that there is in IPO. So basically our dogs are already trained for obedience too.

The first Tallivahdin dog was Mango (Englein) with Mili. They made their dedute in obedience with a nice result of 153,5 points out of 200. Its was only 6,5 points away form first class result that is 80% of max. You can say that it was first class result without the last jump. Then it was turn for me and Sissi (Cremefarben). We are competing in the highest  3-class in tracking and there Sissi is already very sure in working dog obedience. Therefore I waited for a good result and it came: 180/200 p excellent 1-class result. We had being tiwce before in obedience test  and both times in Tervakoski. The first time Sissi was just 12 months old and she got the price of the youngest dog that made result in that year. Last time was three years ago but there were nothing to hurray in our result then. I am sure that Sissi could do even better but I may have been in my upper limit. Then it was turn for Tiia and Kylli (Bildschön). They got 136/200 that was under their normal level. It may have been the hot weather that made it harder for them. Next ekipaget was Maarit and Hulda (Eminent), whose obedience would have been more appreciated in working dog test than here. They got 131 /200. Last Tallivahdin dog was Jesse (Cowboy), who had now trained by his owner´s Marita´s friend Sari. Well – Jesse would have like to work with Marita instead and run happily to her couple of times so Sari interrupted the test. Their result was 22/200.

The beginner class was the biggest class with 22 dogs so it took a while until we got the final results. Our camp was so far away from the tents of the organizer´s so we were not aware of the results. Therefore it was a total surprise when we heard that Sissi and I had won the class. Competition was tight: the second dog had the same points than us but we had more 10´s that made us winners. Years ago all Tallivahdin 5 dogs were priced in obedience in Tervakoski in team competitions but we were now the first Tallivahdin class winners. As you can imagine Saturday evening went very well in high spirit in our camp. We had already cream cake and champagne with us because of Abba´s and Sissi´s champion titles... So our hovi weekend begun very well!

In our camp there were lot of action the whole weekend because other Tallivahdin dogs were also visiting us there. We had made an area surrounded by fences for little G-puppies and you could see puppy wrestling there for whole weekend. There were altogether six G-puppies that are now 16 weeks old: Onni (Gauner), Poke (Gestein), Ani (Gaublerin), Ritu (Genie), Melba (Gewinnerin) and Kitta (Göttingen). Hopefully we can see them with their familise in Tervakoski in the future also in these more official games!

Sunday morning came after a busy night and I got more and more excited all the time because this is the BIGGEST day for a Finnish hovibreeder. We have had Tallivahdin breeder group in Tervakoski since 2005 also six times before and in 2009 we were BIS2 breeder with 4 golden bitches Bildschön, Cremefarben, Emanze and Englein. Now there were only 5 Tallivahdin dogs in this show when some other breeder´s had over 20 dogs. In order to get a breeder group you must have 4 dogs that have got excellent result... Show dog outlook is not high in my breeding criterias although I want to breed typical hovis. So also because of that there are not many owner´s who are interested in dog shows among Tallivahdin owners. I always say to them that if  you once want to take your dog to the dog show, please come to Tervakoski. There are special judges and best knowhow of hovis. But 4 out of 5 Tallivahdin dogs must have succeeded excellently so that we could get a breeder group again - you can imagine how exciting day we had!
The first Tallivahdin dog in show ring was our own Sissi, FI & SE CH JK2 FH1 Tallivahdin Cremefarben, that I presented now in working class.  She got her second CACIB this summer for C.I.B. title but the official title papers have not come yet. So I had high hopes! The judge was Elisabeth Kapsch from Austria and she liked Sissi a lot. Sissi got EXC2 with an option of CAC. The best bitch of working class became also the BOB of the whole show and also IHF-champion. So our beginning was very strong.

The second Tallivahdin dog was our 12 months old Repe, Sissi´s son Freiberufler. He started his show career in this show with excellent judgement! The judge of all 33 junior males and 42 junior bitches was Kirsten Wesche from Germany.
Third Tallivahdin dog was Hulda (Eminent) with Maarit. She was JUN EXC2 two years ago so we hoped also her to be succesfull. In open class bitches the German judge Beatrix Feix liked her to be Very good. So it was a little disappointment for us. Feix was also the judge of the best bitch and breeder groups so her opinion was today very markable. And now Laku and Ofelia should get both EXC so that we could present a breeder group.... Excitement rose very high!!!!
Then it was turn for Laku (Emanze) with Sarri. Laku won two years ago intermediate class bithces and got RES CAC. So our hopes were high again. This summer Sarri have had enough time to train her with bicycle and Laku was in great condition! Laku got EXC and became the third best of 62 open class bitches. At the end of the day In the best bitch final competition she made it even better and became totally the third best of all over 150 bitches and got again RES CAC. Very many congratulations  Sarri and Laku! Laku has now had the greatest success among Tallivahdin dogs in Tervakoski and she is hopefully becoming the mother of our H-litter. Before that she must have also result in working dog test. Hopefully it happens already this autumn. But we are not in a hurry with her puppies because she is only 3 years and 5 months old now.

So our spirit was high already before the last Tallivahdin dog of the day: 12 months old junior Ofelia (Forscherin). We had our fingers crossed for her to get EXC. And little Ofelia with Saana did it: Ofelia became the second among 42 junior bithces and got JUN EXC2 with also option for CAC. Here we have one more very successful Tallivahdin dog that has been well placed in this great  hovi show. Ofelia was also in the best bitch final and she was the 6th bitch there!
My dream became true: we got again a wonderful golden breeder group Cremefarben, Emanze, Forscherin and Freiberufler and they won everyone - Tallivahdin group was BIS1!!! There were altogether 27 breeders that had announced a breeder group but only 9 of them got 4 excellent dogs and succeeded to present a group. As my friend Mirja said this must be the crown of my 10 years breeding career. Thank you very much all wonderful Tallivahdin dogs and their families! Now we really have many reasons to celebrate in Tallivahdin kennel day on the 13.8.! There is again time for cream cakes and champagne!!!
