There were 30 hovawarts in Finnish Hovawart Club Working-dog Championship games today in Hamina on the south-east coast. 22 of them were competing in nordic game of forest tracking and 10 of them were in the highest 3 class were where we too with Sissi. A track in this winner class is 1,5 km long and 2 hours old and it is in forest. There are 6 wooden sticks onthe track that the dog should find. The judge evaluates the start where there is a line of 50 meters you send the dog to go forward and somewhere there the track crosses the line and the dog must then start to follow it on the right direction. We got 38/40 points from then evaluation of Sissi´s working on the line. The track itself was very difficult with several 45 degree cornes and different forest surraundings. And it was raining. It makes the tracking in forest even more difficult because the smell stays in a larger area than in dry weather. Sissi worked like in FH-test very intensively and exactly. She was the only dog of all 22 tracking dogs that found all six wooden sticks!!! So we got max 130/130 from the track.

Next we had object surging on an area of 50mx50m. This is our worst part of the test I am all too lazy to excercie... So our normal is only 1 out 3 objects and that we got this time too. There were some progress though - Sissi did not mark and pee on the area that she have done so far. But I waited her to be moer energetic. The tracking had been very hard and now you could see it too. We got only 8/30 points and totally 176/200 from the forest part. That was the best result of all 3-class dogs.

The there were the obedience left. It is excactly the same obedience than in IPO3. We were the last to go out of 30 hovis... It was our worse obedience ever. i am a very toughminded person but now the I knew we had so much to gain. I do not want to remember all those mistakes anymore but I am very happy we survived to 71/100 points. WITH OUR 247/300 POINTS WE WON! AND SISSI WAS THE ONLY ONE TRACKING DOG OUT OF 22 THAT GOT A RESULT! THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING! SISSI IS REALLY  A TRACKING CHAMPION!!!
